After the releasing of Monk Punk in fall-91 we continued touring in Fin. One particular has been remained in my memory. Just before leaving to Germany for a first time in fall-91 we got a chance to play as a support to one British psychobilly band called Meteors in Turku (FIN).
Remember when traveling to Turku we were kind of wondering, what kind of a band Meteors really is, wondering a bit what we were doing playing with this kind of a psychobilly rock trio (In the very early days of the band it might still had been more suitable, Kärtsy commentingJ). If it would have been a festival or so with many types of audience and bands, it was more understandable, but a club show hmm..
Our fears were kinda right: The audience was pretty much an older rockabilly people, whose music taste is not necessary the most open minded. The band itself looked pretty scary, at that time still pretty rare a tattooed band.
Well, we still decided to play a normal set. Which was the Monk Punk one: Intro with the sang Gregorian ancient church music and with full monk costumes, even with the hoods, with the first song being the doomy slowish symphonic Curiosity. In fact we survived the show pretty well in the end, no items were thrown to the stage or anything, which were scaring a bit.
After the show, thou, we recogniced in the back stage, that 3 of our leather jackets were disappeared, stolen! Doubts were immediately were focused at the main band. Off the stage they went, and we were sneaking into their back stage, and boom there they were! Naturally we took them back and returned to our own room. Then we started to become paranoid, that they will come after their show to revenge and take them back!..Very paranoid! We had just went and took our own stuff back!:)
Our FOH mixer at those times, Jortsa, an old street gang member, started to prepare himself with some iron tubes found from the backstage, just in case of...we were ready to welcome them, if they would come. They didn´t.
After messing up for a while in their own backstage they left. The last one leaving was their tour manager, who then brought to us Sami's missing wallet...empty of course.
After that we also dared to leave from the backstage, which had then already become our citadel.
